Rear Rack Battery

This is a great add on with the extra battery my range has been extended, sturdy bracket and a bit longer then the stock bracket, instructions is clear enough so installation was not difficult though because of the compact area of the controller you might need to stuff the equalizer a bit tighter then expected.

The bracket has extra drill holes to allow for extra installations which was great!.

Only downside is that the back light for the battery is only a on/off light unlike the stock tailight that has a braking light. As I want to keep the stock tailight it was an easy fix with a 3D printed bracket that comfortably screws with the battery bracket, just make sure you don't connect the battery tailight.

Also comes with spare zipties and screws.

Received this as a gift, it was well packaged and while unpacking it you could see it was a quality product. The installation was a relativity easy process, though it did take an hour or so. The written installation instructions that came in the box weren't particularly helpful, but there is a video available that clearly illustrates the process. It looks great on the bike and the rack is slightly longer than the original rack, so a larger/longer rack bag can fit on there much better. It does add more weight to what is already a heavy bike, which may make it more difficult to manoeuvre when not riding it. I've not had chance as yet to test the battery's performance, but I'm sure it will extend my continuous riding range to to 60 miles +. I have been on a few long rides where the on-board battery has given up the ghost much quicker than I anticipated, particularly if encountering strong headwinds or inclines towards the end of a ride. This can see the on-board battery drop off considerably from say 50% to zero within 5 miles. Hopefully now with this battery bike rack installed those problems will be a thing of the past. It is a costly purchase, but it will save on the extra weight and space taken up in carrying a spare on-board battery. Would recommend this if you do like to go on extended rides.

the battery kit arrived within a few days of placing the order, installation was simple using a minimum of tools.all parts necessary are supplied including the battery blender, there is a very useful short vidio on this Engwe site showing the whole instalation.the battery slides under the rear rack and is very discreet in appearance, its hardly noticeable that it's there, I really like this kit, If I switch both batteries on together I get more range than using them individually, excellent kit, well worth considering.
