I realise the Engine X is a folding bike, but the only element of this that was really important to me was the folding frame. Losing the original folding ‘T’ shaped bars was not a problem.
This handlebar upgrade is ideal for how I use the bike. Within minutes of riding, I realised that the kit sold by Engwe is just right. The size and proportions work with the frame. The wider handlebars make for a much more stable and controlled ride and I feel it is a better riding position for me.
Installation was simple. Everything just worked and fitted without issues. A few minor adjustments to angles and I was set. As others have mentioned, the hardest bit was getting the original grips off. I used a small screwdriver and a little soapy water. It was not hard to do. I decided to use some ‘lock on’ grips as a minor upgrade on the new bars.
Excellent quality and build, delivered within 48hrs.
