Cannock Chase Bike Trails – Leisure Cycling Trails

Let us look at the trails under here;
Pedal And Play Trail
This is a green graded trail with a length of 1.2 miles. This mountain bike adventure is aimed at and suited for young children aged 3-11 years. If you are a beginner, this is the right trail for you, with three challenges to try and learn from. Each challenge is a bit more difficult than the last and features different trail surfaces and features. All these are tailored to help you master cycling and develop safety riding skills.
Fairoak Trail
This is another green graded trail with a length of 2.5 miles. It starts by meandering through the forest and bursting out into the Fairoak valley and the Fairoak Pools, which makes it a circular trail. While you walk along it, you will notice signs of the past such as the coal mining that was done in the 19th century. It being a home of some wildlife animals, you will be able to meet these beautiful swans, ducks, and grey squirrels.
Perry’s Trail
This one is blue graded with a total length of 2.7 miles. The trail surface all over its length is smooth, but you can expect some rough surfaces and muddy areas during winter. The trail is a bit challenging with gentle berms, rollers, gradual climbs and rollable rock gardens, which make it a good ground for developing your skills.
Heritage Trail
This track is mostly managed by Cannock Chase District council. It runs from Rugeley to Cannock and passes in the midst of the Cannock Chase forest taking in historic sites along the way. This area has led to the popularity of the Cannock Chase Forest because of the people, places and events that are historic to the visitors.
Note; Forestry England manages and maintains all the trails listed above.
Cannock Chase Bike Trails - Cross Country MTB Trails

Here we have two waymarked mountain bike trails. Both of them open throughout the year and free to ride. Tree thinning, tree harvesting and trail maintenance are regular activities that you will encounter at Cannock Chase Cross Country MTB Trails, therefore , you should observe and follow any signs posted there for diversions.
The Cannock Chase Cycle Centre provides bike hire and bike support services. In addition, The Forestry England at Birches Valley Visitors Centre provides its visitors with an ample parking space and other essential visitor facilities.
Important considerations while at the Cross Country MTB Trails is that all the riders should be in helmets at all times while riding. If you are a novice rider, you are advised to avoid these trails and alternatively opt for the Leisure Trails – this applies for young children as well.
Follow the Dog Trail
Follow The Dog Trail is a red graded trail with length of 6.73miles. The trail was designed and built by the Chase Trails and recent modifications have been added to it. They include the new Tackeroo descent which was built as part of the Monkey trail and opened in April 2010.
Be aware of its fast flowing single-track that includes tight and twisty sections. You will encounter broad walks, rock gardens, wood, rollers and rock drop-offs.
The area is relatively flat and there is no much climbing. It has only one mountain to climb ant the total elevation is just 500 feet.
The Monkey Trail
The Monkey Trail is a red graded trail with some sections graded black. Its length is 7.46 miles but can go up to 14.19 mile when combined with Follow the Dog trail. It is far more technical, challenging and demanding. It has bigger climbs and more technical descents. This trail is therefore set aside for experienced and technically competent cyclists.
Its black graded lines include large and unavoidable rocks and rock gardens, and other obstacles. The Monkey trail is a fast flowing single track that is so fun to ride due to its tight hand-built sections. It includes over 1200 feet of climbing, which is more compared to Follow the Dog, and many of its climbs are relatively steeper.
Cannock Chase Bike Trails - Stile Cop Downhill MTB Trails

E-Bikes Recommendation

E-bikes are electronic bicycles with integrated electric motors that aid in propulsion and reduce the effort needed in raiding. They enable riders to go for long distances and these e-bikes are cost effective and environment friendly. They have adjusting features that make it easy for you to customize them as you wish. Their pedal systems as well can be adjusted to the level of assistance that you wish to get.
They come in different types depending on their intended purpose; we can have commuter bikes, electronic mountain bikes, cargo e-bikes, folding e-bikes which are easy to compact and store, and we also have fat-tire bikes that are good for stability.
These bikes are available in most online and on site stores. Make plans and have one of your own. You will definitely love it.
